Update

I have been madly working on the last chapter and epilogue of BELIEVE with my co-writer, and think it's time for a short break to do revisions on a possible Cravings story for Harlequin, before my edits for MOON THRALL arrive.
Really looking forward to having these three done and dusted and starting work on three other manuscripts I've started. One is a possible single title, another longer length ms for Ellora's Cave - an alien sci-fi/fantasy, and my third gargoyle story for the Winged & Dangerous series.
Wish me luck! =))

Another Lovecat Read...Rachel Bailey

Our own Lovecat, Rachel Bailey, has written the ultimate tortured hero. Along with a heroine (Beth) who has walked away from the love of her life in the ultimate sacrifice, it's a truly heart wrenching book. I loved the interactions of Nico with his 'nephew' and the way this whole story just seamlessly flowed and unfolded =)

Floods

In Australia one only has to turn on the news to hear and see all about the floods that have declared 75 percent of Queensland a natural disaster-and much of the East Coast further south bracing for the worst. But much much worse - the tragic loss of lives. People clinging to trees in the raging torrent, the family sitting on the roof of their car, mother and baby on the roof of their house...
I have no doubt there will be some incredible stories to come out of this disaster, with the human spirit shining through such tragic times.
Living on a small rural property, for so long we've relied on rain for our tanks to provide for all our needs - bathroom, toilet, drinking, washing. Seems amazing that now, with so much water around them, the people in Brisbane and many towns cannot drink their tap water for fear of contanimation.
Where I livc, the floods have cut off the road, so no supplies can get in. Food and fuel shortages happened almost overnight - with a couple of reports where people fought over a loaf of bread! (okay, human spirit was in short supply then!)
Guess we have to appreciate the simple things in life - like a glass of water!!!

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Based on a novel by John Boyne, (who interestingly enough wrote the first draft in two and a half days with very little sleep) The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas was a really interesting perspective from an eight year old's pov growing up in Berlin (world war 2).
Bruno and his family move to the country after his soldier father gets promoted to a high ranking officer. It is in his new home, where he is all but a prisoner) that he sees the 'farm' from his bedroom window. Little does he realize what he sees is a concentration camp, even after he sneaks out and befriends a jewish boy his own age through the wire fence.
I won't give away anymore of the story, and though the ending wasn't a HEA, I highly recommend the movie =)
