Galactic Flame

Thanks Angie J of Twinsie Talk Reviews for another nice review, this time for Galactic Flame.

What a great addition to this series. If you read book two *cough cough the review was just yesterday people* you know that Ally promised her first born daughter to Queen Lillian's first born son....well 25 years later and guess what? the first born son is here to collect!!! Except he has no clue what his intended name is or what she looks like. OOOPPPSIE kinda important right? Well He takes the wrong female as his intended because his alien "vibes" say Eden is the one......Eden lets him take her to protect her frail/fragile sister from a life that she imagines as barbaric and inhuman. She is shocked to learn that the aliens are kind, generous and love her instantly. WELLLLL, not everyone loves her. Seems she has stolen the "prize" of race. Seems Miss. Widowed Earth Woman Sala is after the prince and isn't very shy about letting Eden know. Don't ya just hate jealous bitches???? *fist bump* Me too!!!

Eden is freaked that everyone will find out she isn't the princes true intended. She has fallen head over heals in love with him and doesn't want to lose him. The aliens have built a tower to help them "find" Earth women. When they do then Sala and Eden join forces to try and break the tower. Eden says to save her sister (and the secret that she is not the true intended for Genesis) and Sala to keep the Earth women away so she can keep on screwing all the single aliens. ....frigging Skank Box. There will never be enough Kio Kio to clean her up (don't understand, read the book. If you do understand, ya know you giggled a little bit!!)........

ANYWHO, Eden gets into trouble for breaking a promise and is sent to live alone for 2 weeks as punishment. However, i LOVED that skanks punishment . Very very fitting and nicely done Mel!!! During the time Eden is being punished, she ends up admitting who she "really" is and things get kinda bad for Genesis. I will not tell you the end of the story or why Eden gets into trouble but i can't wait for book 4????? Please tell me there is a book 4!!! I kinda wanna know what happens to Aline the "true" intended for Genesis. Plus I want to know more about Aline's new "suitors"...giggles.

Betrayed

With my move and everything I totally missed the release day for Christina Phillips book BETRAYED on the Ellora's Cave site, but it's just gone live at Amazon. If you enjoyed Forbidden and Captive you'll love her third Roman-Druid installment (and her first book through Ellora's Cave).

And don't you just love the cover!!?

In 51 A.D., Druid priestess Nimue is injured and enslaved by the hated Roman Legions. Even though she is drawn to her captor, she’s determined to escape and complete her mission for the Briton king and her duty to Arianrhod, the goddess she is bound to.

The tough Roman warrior who captures her is far from the brutal barbarian she expects. His touch inflames her desires and passion burns between them. Though Nimue does not accept her enslavement, her heart surrenders to her enemy. When Arianrhod appears to her in the form of an owl, Nimue knows the union is blessed.

Roman warrior Tacitus is enchanted by the fiery beauty who shows no fear and challenges him at every turn. Though enslaving her goes against his heart, he’s determined to make her his. No woman has ever heated his blood as she does. But when he discovers her true nature as one who actually communes with the gods, his loyalties are torn between his heritage and a woman who could destroy everything he’s ever believed in.

Home Sweet Home (new home!)

After all the talk of moving, I'm finally HERE!!! I hope to be around a bit more on my blog and rambling about god knows what, so bear with me =))

But somehow we managed to find a rental within a week of having to move out of our house, coincided a truck to pick up our horses (one of which was a little grey pony who probably won't see too many more years) and of course a removalist to bring all our 'stuff' up to our new house.

Inbetween all the paperwork of selling a house, buying land and renting a new one - phew!!! I'm feeling for all you people out there who did this stuff all the time - I think I've sprouted a dozen new greys in my hair lol.

Hope you are all having a great day and are MUCH more organized than I am right now! (took 3 days just to organize wireless internet grrrrr).

Bye now =))

Review of Galactic Flame

My very first review for Galactic Flame, from Amy Hopkins of The Romance Review.  4 stars. Always nice to get a great review =)

For as long as she can remember, Eden has listened to her father tell stories of his home planet and the prince that will come and get her sister to be his princess there. Eden has always soaked up those stories, while her sister grows more and more depressed at the thought of leaving all she knows. Suddenly Genesis is there to collect his bride and mistakenly assumes it's Eden. She know that this is an opportunity to save her sister from the fate she's been dreading but at the same time she's caught off guard by the incredible attraction she feel towards Genesis. When her fear of discovery turns to a very real possibility, Eden has to decide how far she'll go to keep her secret and the man she's fast falling in love with.

I really enjoyed this book. I hadn't read the two previous book in the Alien Hunger series, but it was no problem to pick up this book end enjoy it. I'm sure that it won't be long until I go back and read the first two books just because this is a really intriguing world that I want to read more of. Eden and Genesis have a great spark of chemistry which makes it really fun reading as Eden finally gets to explore her sexuality. The author also did a really good job balancing the desire for details of this new world and it's inhabitants while still keeping the story moving. In fact, this is a nice fast read. I have to say that I was a bit surprised that the whole book wasn't as light-hearted as it first seemed it would be. This isn't a complaint at all, just something unexpected. This book has strong hints as to what the next book in the series will be and it's one that I'll be watching for.

Colonist's Wife.

All round brilliant writer and fab CP Kylie Scott has a new release out, debuting with Ellora's Cave. Colonist's Wife. No, it's not zombies (and damn we love her zombies), but it's a brilliant, clever and at times, witty read.
We'd expect nothing less from you Ms. Scott.=)

It’s 2088, and having testified in a gangland murder trial, nowhere on Earth is safe for Louise. Witness Protection has organized a new identity and a marriage contract for her on the mining colony of Esther, one of the moons circling Jupiter. The man who meets her there is not the groom she expected.
Adam Elliot is neither sweet nor sincere, and he looks like he was hosed off a barroom floor. But soon a memorial service reveals Adam’s soft underbelly. Throw some stellar sex into the mix and the two decide that maybe marriage to each other might not be so bad after all.

But an assassin is already at work. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues on the planet’s frozen surface. Louise is determined to live long enough to draw the maniac away from the husband she might just have fallen for.

This and That

So today is the 13th, we have nine days to get out of our house and into a rental. Tomorrow, I HOPE we'll know if we've got the go ahead for one of two houses. Wow, the rental prices where we're going are steep. But we will be building on 13 acres once we're settled and hopefully have enough money to get on with it! =)

In the meantime, paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork! Selling and then buying again isn't something I'd want to be going through again for a while LOL! Guess if that's all we've got to worry about we're doing alright =)

So on the writing front. Once I'm in the new house and settled, I'll be working on edits for Enraptured. Wow, I love this cover! I've been SO lucky with my covers so far. I guess I'll also be working on edits for Believe, though it's not due for release until the end of the year so probably won't have to worry about those for a while. Lastly I have Abducting the Enemy due in so I REALLY need to get my act together! Still have at least 10k of words to get down, but my brain just isn't with it with all that's going on right now.

Wish me luck!! And whatever you guys are doing out there, take your times. Stay calm. Be happy! (words of advice I'll be heeding myself)

Galactic Flame excerpt

The craft’s walls gently vibrated. Genesis tore his stare from her and frowned. He turned back, proffering a hand. “Come. It is past time we were seated.”
She grudgingly accepted his hand and allowed him to lead her to one of the chairs before he instructed, “Sit. Relax.” He did the same in the chair nearby. “The journey will be a long one, but our seats will automatically adjust for our individual comfort.”
She gripped the arms of her seat as it unfolded. The red fur underneath her spine and ass cheeks was amazingly soft and comfy. No doubt it had come off the vicious, alien-eating caltronian beasts she’d heard her father talk about a time or two.
If she ever met such a beast, perhaps she’d offer congratulations for its good taste. She shivered, half-ashamed. A morbid sense of humor wouldn’t cut it if she really did set eyes on one of the red-furred monsters—they’d probably enjoy her human-alien flesh just as much.
Genesis stretched his long legs out before him, clearly settling in. He took hold of her nearest hand, as if in reassurance. “The shields will shortly web across our bodies. They’ll hold us in for takeoff.”
She jerked with alarm as the shields grew from the floor and up the chairs to quickly blanket her entire body, including her scalp. Only her face—mouth, nose and eyes—stayed clear. Even their joined hands were webbed together. It was the weirdest sensation, as though smoke was solidifying over her body.
“Relax,” he soothed from the chair beside her, though she couldn’t turn her head and see him.
“I didn’t expect this!” she hissed, perversely glad his hand was entwined with hers.
The craft reverberated, juddering hard underneath. The walls of the craft revolved, faster and faster, as though a spinning top, the momentum creating a whine that amplified on seemingly every rotation.
“The craft is preparing for takeoff,” he said, raising his voice to be heard. “When it does, the G-force will cause you to pass out. Soon after the shields will release a non-toxic gas to keep us unconscious.”
“Please don’t tell me you’re serious!”
She wasn’t used to feeling so helpless. Since giving herself over to him in place of her sister, all her free-will had been taken away from her.
“It sounds crude, but staying asleep with brief snatches of wakefulness to relieve our hunger and thirst, means our supplies won’t run dry.”
The straw in the cylinder beside her took on a whole new meaning. Clearly whatever liquid it held was both food and water in human terms. Her voice cracked, “Do I get any say in this?”
“Sorry, Princess, no. At just twenty day’s journey, this craft is by far the fastest and most efficient way to travel.”
The craft’s whine became an earsplitting hum that continued to increase in volume and unlike anything she’d ever heard before. And as the shields pushed a little way into her ear and formed a ball to evidently block out the worst of the sound, Genesis squeezed her hand and shouted, “See you in my solar system, Princess!”
A flash of light burst before her eyes. Her belly dropped from beneath her. Then…nothing.

Taking the Modern World for Granted?

I'm talking about how much we take the modern world for granted over at Romance Writers of the Apocalypse!

I had just a small taste of what it would have been like living a couple of hundred years ago, with no power and running water. Go check it out =))

BELIEVE

I've been a very slack blogger lately, in the midst of trying to line up a removalist, a rental house while we build, and waiting for contracts on our house sale to officially go through. It's the timing that counts LOL!

Between all that excitement, my co-written single title BELIEVE, has been accepted for publication by Soul Mate Publishing. Not only is it NOT erotic, it's at the other end of the spectrum and will be published as an inspirational.

So happy it's found a home, after coming so close a couple of times =)

Will let you all know the details once we have a cover. Can't wait!!!

Now, back to my deadline...

Damaris - coming soon!

The fourth book of the Alien Fugitive series, Damaris, is coming at the end of this month! I'm just now finishing this book and puttin...
